Welcome friends, its the year 2020 and we are one month gone already. I know that a lot of us started the year with a lot of inspired messages, prophesies and declaration. All these are similar to the words of a coach to his athlete just before the actual race begins. We often gather the needed momentum for the year through the messages we hear at the cross over service, we are hopeful, faith is fired up in our spirit and we think, "wow! God is faithful."
I took stock of my life in 2019 and I realize that in the last quarter of that year, I struggled a lot because I lost momentum. I know most of us can relate to this experience of mine. So let's start this year by talking about the need to keep the Momentum going.
"The quality of how you perform or live out the promises of God over your life in the year is going to be measured by how much of God's word (mass) you have in you to give you the needed stability or energy to run (velocity) in the right direction.
The dictionary definition of Momentum: the quality of motion of a moving body measured as a product of its mass and velocity. In other words, the quality of how you perform or live out the promises of God over your life in the year is going to be measured by how much of God's word you have in you to give you the needed stability or energy to run (velocity) in the right direction.
In Leviticus 26:1-6, God promised his children rain and a bountiful harvest but we must note that he didn't give instruction on what seeds to plant when the rains come. Likewise, while we have received many prophecies of God's move and blessings over our lives for this year (2020), we do not have the full details of how the year will play out.
However in Proverbs 3:5-6, it reads,
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not depend on your own understanding.
Seek His will in all you do, and he will direct your path (NLT)
While we may not always have detailed instructions on what to do, God has blessed us with the ability to think, develop ideas and work hard at them. He has also promised us that when we come to him for guidance, he will direct us. We have his ultimate assurance and blessings for the year already, the question is what are we going to do differently?
Having defined Momentum, how do we keep this Momentum?
Please share with us how you intend to keep the Momentum going in the comments
